Each of the contestants were given pattern Butterick 6217 (kindly donated by McCalls Pattern Company) and were asked to choose from a selection of fabrics in the workshop.
Session 1 started with two and half hours of cutting the patterns and fabric pieces out, with some even making a start on some sewing before breaking for a well deserved lunch served in the Cafe at Abakhan The afternoon session consisted of darts, buttonholes and finishing seams before the contestants could head off for an hour of shopping!

But we needed a winner and we would like to say a BIG congratulations to Sam Jones from our Chester Store was crowned Abakhan Sewing Bee Winner!
We also had prizes for our runners up, second prize went to Vick from our Mostyn Store and third place was awarded to Leanne Taylor from our Bolton store.
