This class builds upon the skills learnt in the “Introduction to the Sewing Machine“ class. Students will make a collection of samples for future reference, including blind and narrow hems, automatic buttonholes, basic zip application, using bias binding and creating piping. In the afternoon they will put these techniques into practice to create a simple, zipped bag. Students will also learn about basic machine maintenance. Ideally, students will have completed the “Introduction to the Sewing Machine” class but this session is also suitable for those with a basic knowledge of machine sewing who want to expand that knowledge. All materials are provided.
