Whether you are a total novice or someone looking for a refresher course in using a modern sewing machine then this is the workshop for you. Learn how to thread a machine, how to choose thread and needles and then complete a series of simple exercises to give you confidence in manipulating fabric through the machine. The class covers sewing straight and curved seams, dealing with corners and curves, neatening edges and some simple embellishments. At the end of the workshop you will have a series of samples to take home for reference as well as a fabric origami drawstring bag made from quilting cotton. No previous experience necessary and all techniques can be applied at home to whatever make of machine you own.
