Art journals and sketchbooks, are an exciting visual method to combine elements of writing, drawing, painting and collage. They are a creative and deeply personal way to record drawings, paintings, feelings, memories, and ideas and they’re great fun to do! This 4 week course concentrates on the various elements used to make a good art journal or sketchbook, exploring mixed media in a decorative, colourful style. It is useful for beginners and those who simply love experimenting with new ideas! Learn a variety of mixed media techniques and create a variety of sample sheets on paper and fabric which can later be made into a complete journal or added to your favourite sketchbook.

Mark making and texturing, colouring , stamping, stencilling and masking

Drawing, painting, mono print and collage.
WEEK 3 USING WORDS
Creative ways with letters and words.
