The Abakhan Sewing Bee
We are on the hunt for enthusiastic sewers to take part! YOU could be crowned ABAKHAN SEWING BEE 2018!
You will also win a Janome Sewing Machine, tickets to The Great British Sewing Bee Live Show plus a stash of Abakhan sewing goodies!!
The Abakhan Sewing Bee is back! We want to encourage our customers to have a go at sewing their own project, the competition is fun and open to all sewing levels and abilities. We have great prizes to be won at each store and projects will be judged by each of our Store Managers. Scoring will take into account criteria such as difficulty, originality, creativity, neatness, embellishments and technical expertise. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize at each store.
Winners
The 1st place winner from each store will be entered into the Grand Final which will take place at Altrincham on Sunday 4th March 2018. The finalists will have the chance to win a Janome Sewing Machine along with a stash of Abakhan sewing goodies and the title of ‘Abakhan Sewing Bee’ The final will follow the ‘Sewing Bee’ style competition following a chosen theme, you will have 4 hours to produce an item which will then be judged by Celia Banks and GBSB’s Paul Clarke. Lunch and refreshments will be included throughout the day.
Rules
• Entrants must be age 16 or over
• Any type of sewing related project can be entered
• 1 entry per person is allowed
• Item must be made specifically for the ‘Sewing Bee’ competition and made with products purchased from Abakhan
